Louis Armstrong was one of the great jazz players of the 1920's. He was the inventor of "scat singing" or using non syllable words almost like instruments sounds as a result of accidentally dropping his sheet music during a recording.

1901- William and Mary Albert Armstrong has a son (Louis Daniel Armstrong was born).

1902- Louis was raised by his Grandmother Josephine Armstrong and his uncle Issac after his father left and mother couldn't support him

1906-Moved back in with his mother and went to school at Fisk's School for boys.

1912- Louis dropped out of school, and started singing with a quartet, and was taught how to play the cornet by Joe Oliver

1914-Louis was sent to a general delinquency home, continued to play the cornet and revived lessons from Professor Peter Davis

1915-He was released from the home and returned living with his mother. He worked as a coalman during the day and played at a dance hall at night

1917- He played with the King Ory band

1918-Louis married Daisy Parker and adopts his cousins 3 year old mentally disabled son Clarence, and soon divorced Daisy

1922- He joined Creole Jazz band in Chicago, and married Lillian Hardin

1924-Louis joined Fletcher Henderson's band in Harlem

1925-He played with the Hot Five for recording purposes

1929-Louis formed his own band called Louis Armstrong and the Stompers

1931-He appeared the movie Ex-Flame, was arrested for drug possession,received a suspended sentence, and left for Europe for a while due to problems with the mob.

1936-Louis appeared in the movie Pennies from Heaven with Bing Crosby

1937-He became the first black man to host a sponsored, national radio broadcast

1938-Louis divorces his wife Lillian and marries his long time girlfriend Alpha

1942-He married his fourth wife Lucille Wilson

1945-Louis formed a six piece group called the All Stars

1951-He reached the top 10 on the LP charts at Symphony Hall

1956-Louis preformed a concert that celebrated Ghana's independence in which over 100,000 fans attended

1959-He was briefly hospitalized from a heart attack

1968-Louis recorded What a Wonderful World

1971-Louis dies at 69 in Queens New York

1990-He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

1901: On August 04.1901 Louis Daniel Armstrong was born
1902: Louis father abandoned his family. And his mother left him with his grandma (Josephine Armstrong) and his Uncle Isaac.
1906: Mrs. Armstrong came back to his life. He started going to school in Fisk School for Boys.
1907: His mother became doing prostitution
1912: He dropped out of Fisk School for boys.And he started earned meage form the streets.Joe "king" Oliver thought louis to play the cornet.
1913: Mr. Armstrong bought him self a a cornet with loan by immigrant family who had taken Louis into their family there was Karnofskys .
1914: Louis was sent to a Colored Waifs’ Home for general delinquency .
1915:Armtstrong was released and moved back with his mother and his step father. He started working as a colmanduring the daytime and at nighttime he palyed in a dance hall at HENRY PONCE which Black Benny was he teacher.

1918: He married Daisy Parker on March 19. They aboted a disable-kid he was 3 years from his cousin Flora after she died while give birth. Louis had drivor with Daisy Parker.1919: Louis became a second trumpet for the Tuxecdo Brass Band.1921: Around this time he learn how to read music.1922: Louis Armstrong joins a jazz band called Creole Jazz Band in Chicago. Then he married, Lillian (Lil) Hardin who was Oliver’s pianist.1925:Mr. Armstrong formed a band called the “Hot Five” for recording only and his cut first records for Okeh and continued playing in other bands.1931:Louis appeared in his first movie called Ex-Flame.1937: Mr. Armstrong became the first black radio host in national radio braodcasting.1938: He divorces Lillian (Lil) Hardin. Married long time girlfriend Alpha.1939: World War two started1942: Then he married Lucille Wilson a singer from Cotton Country Club.1945: WW2 ends and so does the public taste for Swing music. Louis formed a six piece group called the All Stars
1959: Had a heart attack.1968: He recored his last hit song " What a Wonderful World".1969: Mr. Armstrong appeared in a movie Hello Dolly. His rendition of the song Hello Dolly won him a Grammy for best vocal performance
